ACI Strike Authorization Vote: Tonight 100% of rail workers voted to authorize ATU to call a strike. We have tried to communicate with ACI and the RPTA Board of Directors. We have not recieved a response. We would have liked to have had the time to settle all issues, however the deadline of December 31, 2012 at midnight is fast approaching. Although we told the employer that we were happy to continue bargaining without a contract or an extension, the employer demanded an end date of mmidnight New Year's Eve. ACI (Alternate Concepts, Inc.) is a managemet company from Boston that contracts with METRO rail to manage rail operations.
| Veolia Mesa: The contract negotiations seem to have been cut off by Veolia. We called Veolia's corporate office today and let them know that we want them to come back to the table and negotiate. We understand that the Tempe and Mesa City contracts are up for bid, but that should not stop bargaining. Veolia agreed and sure enough, their negotiator was requesting to get back to the table within minutes, via email. |
